This is my second post, and im fairly knew to the very meticulous world of blogging, so forgive me if i seem shrewd. Today id like to discuss the meaning of love. What is love? And no im not referring to the very popular song used by Saturday Night Live’s Roxburry Bros. Connotatively, love is a feeling one gets about another when one thinks another has amazing qualities or attractive features. Denotatively, love is a profoundly tender, passionate affection for another person. Definitions aside, its something everyone believes they understand and can obtain. This being said, what is the importance of romanticism and love to our societ? Although it is said that one shouldnt rely on love, most believe that they need love to grow and survive. Is love truly a nutrient on which we thrive? Must we obtain it to survive this perfected (i use the term loosely) word we live in today? These and many other questions go unanswered still, as love is an enigma of the mind, and is understandable but surreal. Today as i was surfing the interwebs to collect information for Mythology, I was stunned by the statistics of those who thought they’d found “the one”, but it was a lie. This all being brought to light, i leave you with this to ponder: what is love to you? Would you give up your life because of someone you just met? I thank you, and goodbye.
most people think that the world is some big bright place where everyone should get along and nothing should go wrong. well the world ive seen is anything but that. there are bullies, criminals, politicians, and other people who are out for the best for them, although not in the best interest for anyone else. recent studies show that people bully because of insecurities, past abuse, or for just plain fun. this, to a very open young woman such as me, is unacceptable. is it not cowardly to show someone you are better than them by telling the m they are worthless? one of the most common bullying techniques is the cyber bully. this, to me, is very low. to use false names and rude comments to make one feel terrible about themselves? yes, some of you may say that those who fall victim of this crime are cowards themselves, but at what cost? is it not human to become offended by things? yes, its true they are said by persons unknown but yet it still makes one feel compelled to be offended. as i was commenting on Youtube, a popular site amongst teens in love with music and comedy utmost, i got a rebuttal against my opinion on an ongoing problem in the world today. i was bashed, but i was not moved by the other persons opinion. it occured to me that they are not better at things than i am, therefore i know they have no right to tell me what i should think. i simply explained my point of view and moved on. so, having said this, i leave you with a morsel of thought: what would you do if someone tells you what you have the right to say, or that you have no importance on this earth? i thank you and goodbye.
